Default Solo Ele Troll Farming Build (E/Me)

I came up with a build for Ele solo Troll farming at Drok’s!

Name: (still to come)

Profession: E/Me

Type: PvE

Category: Tank/Farm

Skills:

1. Glyph of Concentration (No Atrib)
2. Mystic Form (Water Magic Elite)
3. Arcane Echo (No Atrib)
4. Channeling (Inspiration Magic)
5. Flame Burst (Fire Magic)
6. Phoenix (Fire Magic)
7. Meteor Shower (Fire Magic)
8. Armor of Mist/Other (Water Magic)

Attributes:

Fire Magic 16
Water Magic 11
Energy Storage 9 (or less)
Inspiration Magic 7 (or less)

Equipment:

A 20/20 Fire staff + 18->20% enchantments would be gr8
I personally use the collector’s staff at Iron Mines with a ench+19% wrapping (You need 5 Frigid hearts)

Summary:

You make your way to the “cave” cast Echo get the trolls in a big bunch then cast Mystic Form followed by Channeling and try to keep them up at all times. As soon as you have both enchantments on you use the Glyph of Concentration follower by Meteor Shower, then another Glyph followed by Phoenix, and spam Flame Burst.

This will take the trolls down in 40-60 sec. probably the fastest way ever

Notes:

You need to keep Mystic Form up at all times, so if you think u don’t have time to cast the Shower just use flame burst then the 2nd Mystic Form(Echo), then you can cast the Shower. Try to use the Glyph before every spell, especially before the Enchantments.

Armor of Mist is for getting to the cave easily and if you screw up in there, you can just cast it and run. Inferno could be used instead of Armor of Mist to make more damage.

Unlike the Earth Farming build, you won’t get interrupted, you have absolutely no problem with energy, and you don’t have to worry about your health at any time.

This is also a gr8 build for power leveling, because it takes no time at all.

Credits: Me I guess, and all the fans of Mystic Form

It should be Mist Form......
Your build is good, and is even faster than using warrior

Yeah it works really quite well, i use something very similar.

Not really anything new though, quite a few builds already in the forum very much like this one

Can anyone point me to where the caves are? A map would be great.

Finding the trolls: Just go out the north entrance to Droks -- Talus Chute -- and hug the cliff on your left.

The build: I'm lazy, and go with Ether Renewal/Earth because it works everywhere. But yeah, it takes a little longer to kill the trolls and, what's more, in some spawns I have a tediously long fight with Avicara before I get there.

It IS possible for the trolls to interrupt Glyph of Concentration, of course.

And you'd better kill them before the third Mist Form runs out ...

Would Mantra of Resolve chew up more energy than you can spare?

I use this for trolls and other mele mobs now...just remember to space out the attack skills a little bit. Also use a Shield with a -2 DMG Enchant of course and whatever wep with a +5 NRG and a 18-20% enchant mod on it. It goes by pretty quick.

16 earth
13 energy

Balthazars Spirit - or Channeling (Whatever profession you prefer)
Kinetic Armor
Armor of Earth
Aura of Restoration
Sliver Armor
Crystal Wave
Tenai's Crystal
Aftershock

my 55 ele build:

Flame burst
inferno or Fire Ball
Fire attunment
heal breese'
prot sirit
mending
aura of restairation
balthazar spirit

when fighting some dumb melee mobs (like minotaurs) i use fire ball cuz it recharges faster, when fighting Tralls i use inferno. exept fire attunment there all 1/4-1/2 second to cast so its rare that i get interrupted. inferno takes 20 secs to recharge, but flame burst takes only 7 secs. with fire attunment, after casting either of those im not empty so i can cast heal breese or prot spirit right away.
sometimes i replace inferno by Spel breaker if needed

I also run a very similar build for Droks trolls and it works great! I bring mantra of resolve instead of glyph.

Try it out.
I did - works good. easier then using Mr Frosty on the ice imps. because of the Mist form you get practically no damage from the trolls. got a kind of 55hp effect where u can take on alot more than u look like u can handle. good thing about this build is the more the better! even better than 55ing it!

good work TnEEn This build rocks!

No elite? Do you really have enough energy to use all four attack skills? (I'm counting Sliver Armor as an attack skill.)

Oh. Trolls. Got it re the energy.

But if you have a spawn with the avicara in your way, can you beat them, or do you need to rezone?

A Little note for ppl who use this build for Power Leveling. Take out Meteor showers and but in inferno and keep Armor of mist on. Showers causes scatter. Spells hit all together cause scatter too so when casting dmg spells count 4 energy points between one and the other - say your energy was 60 when 1st spell cast count till 64 and hit other dmg spell - this way u avoid scatter.. i've managed to kill all trolls around me b4 i hit the 3rd mist form

I can normally run my way past them on either side of the mountain =). I never fight then with any build cause they just waste your time. and yeah no elite cause none can outdamage the ones I got. Shockwave would work but deosn't damage as much as crystal wave/tenais crystal. sliver is for dmg and survival. i suppose aftershock can be replaced with shockwave but it's double the recharge time though which makes keeping up kinetic a bit difficult

I'm talking about the original build here, btw. I found inferno to be more efficent than phoenix because of the faster cast time, lower energy consumption, and slightly quicker recharge. It doesnt deal as much damage as phoenix can, I guess, but it's better here. Also, how do you get around the avicara when you're trying to reach the cave? Mist Form doesnt protect me against arrows

Other than that, great build!

OP: Good farming build.

I found that it was easier for me to use Mantra of Resolve over the Glyph of Concentration too as mentioned above. I also dropped the Armor of Mist for Inferno for the same reasons the poster right above me did. I've also been thinking of replacing Phoenix with Fire Attunement for when I have to fight small (3 or less) groups of Trolls since the energy management of Channeling in those cases just doesn't seem to hack it.

I do have a question though. Are the trolls in the "cave" the only ones to be farmed? Does anyone take in the named Trolls that live in there (I've tried a few times for kicks without any luck) or are people just killing the Trolls in the big cave and going back to Droknar's afterward?

The mistform build has been around for a long time, I used it last year in august to farm skillpoints on my ele. It used to be a lot faster before the november AI update

When I farm trolls with my Ether Renewal/Earth build, I kill everything -- the avicara and/or trolls along the way to the cave, the main group of trolls in the main cave, the small group with the warrior boss, and the small group with the ranger boss. And then sometimes I come back out front (rather than keeping going out the back) and kill more avicara, trolls, gnashers, whatever. Once I even soloed all the way to Ice Caves, but that took a while, and I don't remember why I didn't get killed by ice imps (maybe I was able to go past/around them -- I don't recall actually fighting them or dealing with their Maelstroms). (If you are killing the gnashers, kill their minions first. Otherwise they'll just Taste of Death them anyway.)

I'm not at all sure this is better in terms of gold-per-hour, but I find it more fun.

Heres a screenshot showing that ele's can farm. I didn't use this build however

It isn't in the caves because these are my only screenshots of me troll farming and I was too lazy to take another in the caves. Besides while I'm troll farming they tend to die 1 by 1 rather than all at the same time as was illustrated in this screenshot...oh well

Btw I was level 17 when I started farming
